🌍 Can Parsel Ship Internationally?
Last updated June 26, 2025
Yes! Parsel supports international shipping to over 220 countries through trusted carriers like USPS, DHL, and FedEx. Whether you're expanding globally or fulfilling an overseas order, Parsel helps make the process smooth and efficient.
✈️ Key Things to Know
1. 📦 Product Info Must Be Accurate
To avoid customs delays and ensure correct duty calculations, your product and customer data in Shopify must be complete and accurate. This includes:
- Product price (must be greater than $0)
- Product weight
- Country of origin
- HS (Harmonized System) codes
- Customer phone number
Missing or incomplete info can lead to customs clearance issues, label purchase errors, or failed deliveries.
2. 🌐 Shipping Zones Must Be Set
To enable international shipping, you’ll need to configure international shipping zones in your Shopify settings. Without this setup, international orders won’t be processed or quoted properly at checkout.
3. 📮 DAP (Delivered at Place) Is the Default
By default, Parsel uses DAP for international shipments. This means:
- Your customer pays duties and taxes when the package arrives in their country
- Delivery is held until those fees are paid
- It’s important to clearly communicate this at checkout to avoid confusion or delivery delays
💡 In rare cases, a carrier may advance payment and later bill the fees back to you. If that happens, Parsel will notify you and include the amount on your invoice.
4. ✅ DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Is Optional
If you’d like to collect duties and taxes upfront at checkout, you can use DDP for a smoother delivery experience.
To use DDP you must enable DDP on your Shopify store. This may require a 3rd party app for your specific needs. 👉 Learn how to set up DDP in Shopify
5. 🚫 Limit on High-Value Shipments
Parsel does not support international shipments valued over $2,499.
This is because high-value exports often require:
- Additional customs documentation
- Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing
- Manual review or approval steps outside of Parsel’s automated flow
For these shipments, we recommend using your carrier’s website directly (FedEx, DHL, etc.) to generate the label and meet all export compliance requirements.
