Order Holds in Parsel

Last updated June 25, 2026

Orders may appear “On Hold” in Parsel for a variety of reasons - and they must be resolved in Shopify before they can be fulfilled.

🚨 Common Reasons for On-Hold Orders:

  • Fraud flags
  • Failed payments
  • Invalid shipping addresses
  • Operator or manual holds

How It Works:

  • Orders placed on hold in Shopify will automatically appear on hold in Parsel, listed at the top of your screen.
  • Once the hold is removed in Shopify, the order will move to the unfulfilled orders list in Parsel.
  • You can process single orders directly from the hold list if the issue has been resolved. ⚠️ Note: Orders on hold cannot be added to a batch in Parsel.

To place an order on hold in Parsel, you'll need to do so directly in Shopify. Parsel recognizes and mirrors hold statuses set in your Shopify store.

How to Place an Order on Hold in Shopify:

  1. Go to Shopify: Open the order you'd like to place on hold in your Shopify admin.
  2. Update Order Status: Change the order status to “On Hold.”
  3. Parsel Syncs Automatically: Once the update is made, Parsel will reflect the on-hold status at the top of your order list.
💡

Tip: You can use Shopify Flow to put orders on hold automatically when they meet certain conditions.
