Setting Up Your Packages in Parsel
Last updated June 25, 2026
Accurately defining your package details in Parsel ensures accurate shipping rates, enhances the speed of order processing, and reduces the chance of adjustment charges. Once your packages are set up, Parsel will autofill these details during the shipping process, saving you time.
Step-by-step Guide:
- In your Parsel dashboard, select Settings located on the left sidebar.
- Click Packages to navigate to your configured packages.
- Click on the package type to create a new package from the available options: box, polybag or tube.
- Enter a Name for your package (e.g., "Small Box", "Medium Poly Mailer", "Large Flat Rate") to help you easily distinguish between your packages when fulfilling orders.
- Enter the Length, Width, and Height of your package, measured in inches.
- Enter the package's Weight in ounces. Packages should be empty when weighed. Parsel uses this to calculate accurate shipping costs, adding this to the weight of the products in the order.
- Click Save when you have finished adding your packages and have reviewed the information.
🌟 Why Setting Up Packages Matters:
- Efficiency: Parsel can auto-select the correct packaging based on past usage and shipment details.
- Cost accuracy: Accurate dimensions and weights ensure precise shipping costs and reduce unexpected expenses.
- Time-saving: Minimize manual data entry during the shipment creation process, helping you ship faster.
Tip: Keep all your frequently used packages saved in Parsel and update them if you change packaging suppliers or stop using a package. Accurate packaging saves you time when fulfilling and reduces the change or adjustment charges from incorrect weight or dimensions.
